Making Disciples who Make Disciples..
The School of Leaders
The Road to Maturity- Step 5
Step 5
The The The early weeks of the SOL continue to lay the foundations of basic Bible truths. We also begin to equip them to share their faith in simple ways. They learn the fundamental truths of scripture, (including the 16 Fundamentals held by our Fellowship), but also learn practical skills like “Sharing Salvation in 60 Seconds” where they learn how to explain salvation in simple terms to unbelievers. They learn how to briefly share their personal testimony, pray with someone for needs or salvation, and how to be a bold witness. Homework assignments not only require Bible study, but also require the disciple to share his/her faith with coworkers and friends, and to bring new unchurched people to the cell meeting they attend. As the disciple progresses in the SOL, they later study the “story” of the Bible ( a very basic Old Testament survey), learn about spiritual gifts, and in time, we begin teaching them principles of leadership and caring for others. They last sessions of the SOL focus on small group dynamics, and how to lead a successful cell group. In effect, the first 20 weeks of the SOL teach the disciple how to be a good cell member. The latter 20 weeks we teach them how to be a good cell leader. The SOL lays the foundational teachings every believer should know. The equipping trains the student in practical ministry and prepares them to lead a cell group. Each student must read the New Testament completely through 3 times during the 40 weeks, read assigned Old Testament passages, complete weekly written assignments and keep a daily journal. Each week his own cell leader must review his work, and initial the assignment sheet indicating the week’s work was completed properly. There are also four “required reading” books during the SOL and a suggested library we offer to students for further growth after they graduate. SOL TOPICS BY WEEK
